WORK EXPERIENCE AND EMPLOYMENT

JUNE 1970 - MARCH 1973

·    Turned from amateur to a professional career.
·    Performing with Shipstads and Johnson’s Ice Follies, Line work and  understudy to a principal role. Advanced publicity promoting the show in hospitals and children centres, senior citizen centres and war veterans hospitals.
·    Performed first troop at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas with Anthony Newly  and Diana Ross.

MAY 1973 - OCTOBER 1980

·    Taught Western Ontario Region in such clubs a Ingersol F.S.C., Langton  F.S.C. Delhi F.S.C., Ancaster F.S.C., Burlington F.S.C.,  and Hamilton F.S.C.
·    Taught in Hamilton’s Axle Repair Shop, along side Mr. Neil Carpenter and Mr. Andre Denis     (choreographer)- assisted in the overload of students in all disciplines of figures, free skating,   dance, stroking and choreography, working with all levels of skaters  from recreational up to all levels of competitors going to Sectionals,  Divisionals, and Canadian contenders.
·    Produced and promoted numerous annual carnival productions throughout these years.
·    Enjoyed the privilege of teaching numerous canskate and canfigureskate and adult groups.
·    Relocated to teach at the Private Winnipeg Winter Club in Winnipeg, Manitoba 1978. Hired as a full time coach and taught with Mr. Gordon Linney and a ballerina from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet - Marina Ross.
·    Taught (off-season school) at River Heights Arena, Manitoba.
·    Took my Divisional Senior Ladies Champion to Canadians in Sudbury 1980.
·    Enjoyed the great pleasure of watching many of my skaters reach numerous Gold Medals and  helped them with their first jobs entering the ice shows in Ice Capades and Shipstads and   Johnson Ice Follies.
·    Lectured for the Province of Manitoba in mini seminars with written reports going to Manitoba Section to help create a better standard and communications link for the coaches in the remote clubs in the province.

NOVEMBER 1980 TO PRESENT

·    Returned to Western Section to marry and continue teaching in Brantford F.S.C, Ancaster  F.S.C., Glanbrook F.S.C. centralising out of Dundas F.S.C. teaching all disciplines with many of  my skaters entering Sub Sectionals, Sectionals and Provincial competitions.                
·    Developed a Power Skating program for minor  hockey out of Dundas F.S.C for three successful winters of sixteen week durations.
·    Created my own Power Skating Skill School running a ten week program to training all levels of hockey from house league right up through minor and major Double A and Triple A Rep.         players and adults.
·    Aided Dundas Minor Hockey with a fourteen week development program of fundamental skating techniques of balancing over the blade to help aid and reduce sports injuries, this program was teamed up with head coach Mike Waren a certified N.C.C.P. Intermediate Instructor for  Dundas Rep players.
·    Worked with Dundas Minor Hockey in all divisions of Minor and Major Novice, Atoms, Peewees and Bantam divisions of a rotational weekly basis for one winter season.
·    Presently running my eighth year of another Power Skating Skill School of  a sixteen week duration.
·    Expanded the 8th season Spring and Summer Power Skating Skill School in the new location at Hamilton Mountain Skating Centre.
·    Taught  Power Skating for Ancaster F.S.C. of 12 week durations for all levels 1997/98
·    Taught Hamilton Double A and Triple A rep teams for 1999/2000 season Created and taught a successful 20 week development program for Lawfield Minor Hockey Association teaching Tyke, Minor and Major Novice and Atom players for 1999 - 2000 season.
·    Helped judge and select the Double A team for Hamilton in 2000 – 2001 season.
·    Teaching all levels of skating at the Ancaster F.S.C. with off-season schools at Ancaster and Wentworth F.S.C. plus Ancaster Carnival Co-ordinator in 1997, Carnival assistant in 1998.
·    Taught a Pre Novice Dance team who placed 4th Hamilton Invitational 1997, 2nd Sectionals   Woodstock 1997, 2nd Divisionals Sudbury 1998 and  8th in Pre Novice Canadians  March 1998
·    Taught another Preliminary Dance team who placed 4th in Western Development Team skating Level 1 dance in Mooretown Competition and 2nd Delhi Disco Competition l997.
·    1st Sarnia Invitational competition , 2nd Whitby Invitational  1998 Teaching many skaters competition within the Provincial level with one skater competiting               

At all Ontario competition 1999 – 2000.

  • Taught Pre – Juvenile dance team who placed 1st in Provincial qualifyer and 3rd overall in 2000.  
  • Created and direct a C.F.S.A. sanctioned adult ice dance program called EDGEWISE in Burlington 1999 – 2000 with full co-operation from the Burlington Figure skating club.

·    These courses were run and conducted primarily by Ron Vincent from Vancouver B.C. and the private coaching sector and dissolved by C.F.S.A. when the government brought into action           N.C.C.P. (National Coaching Certification Program).

ACTIVITIES AND OTHER INTERESTS

·    My husband and I have three wonderful children, a 19 year old son and 17 year old twins, who are very active in hockey, soccer, golf, music and naturally figure skating.

·    My relaxation is golf, golf, and more golf!
